Information Management Consulting is the consulting practice of Dr. Charles F. Goldfarb, the inventor of SGML, the Standard Generalized Markup Language on which HTML and XML are based. His ideas have been put into practice by thousands of the world's leading information processors and have transformed modern computing. We have two service offerings -- consulting and public appearances -- which are offered throughout the world. We use the term "consulting" in the traditional sense of giving professional advice, not as a synonym for "contracting". |
These services are available to vendors of products that implement the XML/SGML family of standards. Our role is to provide a high-level strategic perspective on a continuing basis. We do not accept contracts for specific projects but will be happy to suggest consultants who do.
Dr. Goldfarb keynotes major public conferences and corporate events. Past appearances include XMLEdge, XMLWorld, XMLOne, and the IBM Developer's Conference.
Dr. Goldfarb wrote the standard reference on SGML, The SGML Handbook, and co-authored The XML Handbook, now in its Fifth Edition with over 100,000 copies in print.
